The Land Promoters and Developers Federation (LPDF) has appointed Phill Bamford as associate director of policy and research.
Phill, who has 27 years’ experience in both public and private sector planning roles, will work alongside the LPDF’s policy director John Acres.
Phill started his career in local government with Broxbourne Borough Council and worked for many years preparing development plans and other planning policy documents for Manchester City, Vale Royal, Tameside and Cheshire West, and Chester councils.
For the last nine years Phill has worked for LPDF member Gladman Developments, leading its planning policy and land promotion team and learning about the commercial and practical realities facing the development industry.
The LPDF, whose members include land promoters, house builders, planners and leading law firms, is working with the Government, local authorities and communities to enhance the planning process, and help deliver the new homes the UK needs.
Phill said: "Joining the LPDF provides me with an exciting new challenge and one which I will embrace wholeheartedly. I look forward to meeting all members of the LPDF over the coming months and I hope that I will be able to contribute to the continuing success of this fantastic organisation in what are challenging times for everyone involved in the sector."
LPDF chairman Paul Brocklehurst said: “Phill is a highly experienced operator and is an excellent addition to our team. With the continual growth of the LPDF, the appointment of Phill to work alongside our policy director John Acres comes at a perfect time for the federation. We are all looking forward to seeing our members at face-to-face events very soon.”
