Pigeon has sold nine acres of residential land in Bury St Edmunds to Weston Homes following receipt of outline planning permission in December 2017. The land, located close to Bury town centre, has permission for approximately 188 units comprising a mix of town houses and apartments. The site is identified within the Station Hill Masterplan, supporting mixed use development for residential, retail, foodstore and leisure uses around the town's railway station. Weston Homes are currently building 135 apartments on the adjacent site. Rapleys acted for Pigeon on the sale. Meanwhile, in Hertfordshire, Pigeon has acquired 87 acres of freehold land on the north-eastern edge of Hemel Hempstead in a joint venture. The land is the first phase of an allocation for 1,500 homes in the St Albans District Local Plan submitted to the Inspector in March 2019, and is also part of the Hemel Garden Communities Charter. Pigeon will promote the site through the Local Plan Examination and prepare a planning application to be submitted in due course.
