The Land Promoters and Developers Federation (LPDF) is delighted to announce that John Acres has been appointed as Policy Director (part-time). This appointment will bolster the LPDF’s policy function, allowing it to play a fuller role in the housing debate.
Over the last year, John has served as President of the Royal Town Planning Institute, representing 25,000 planners across Britain and around the world. He stood down in January 2019 and is now Immediate Past President, still with a busy role within the Presidential Team.
John has worked within the planning world for 47 years – both within the public, private, voluntary and academic sectors. He started his career in local government in London, later moving to the Midlands to serve for 10 years with the House Builders’ Federation. Since then, John has worked with housebuilder, Redrow Homes, and subsequently Warwick based developer Catesby Property Group, culminating in 7 years within planning consultancy – 4 years at Turley and then through his own Acres Land & Planning Ltd.
John said: ‘I am delighted to join the LPDF to support its goal of highlighting the distinct and critical role land promoters are playing in increasing the supply of new homes, and to promote the practice of good planning within the development industry’.
